t h e m a y f i l e s is foremost a family blog, chronicling everyday life. Life including natural, healthy eating (with recipes thrown in at random), home educating (with ideas popping up sporadically), an attempt to homestead on .2 acres (with very meager yields), raising 3 of 4 children with a rare genetic disorder, and lots of highly personal family triumphs and failures. You may also find an eclectic array of musings on politics, exercise, sewing, emergency preparedness, backyard chickens, and religion. This blog isn't a campaign to glorify anyone or anything. Just simply a record.

The Trolley Lives Again

After two summers of no trolley, the trolley lives again! Brent has been building trolleys since childhood. Unlike those of his adolescent years, ours does not cross any gulleys or narrowly avert trees.

Emmett's first experience. He was a big fan.

That is the coolest thing, love your backyard! Wish California has back yards like that! How fun for your kids!

Awesome. My kids would love that. I loved the post on Ellery's last piano recital. She is talented. Really. I hope she keeps with her love for the piano because she's great.

Did you know that Keith and Christy (sp?) are good friends with Ephraim's brother and wife (Chris and Heidi)? They just went to Disneyland together.

I love ziplining! What a fun family activity. I'm really glad to see your bedrest has been modified. I've been missing you at Yoga! Keep me posted.
