t h e m a y f i l e s is foremost a family blog, chronicling everyday life. Life including natural, healthy eating (with recipes thrown in at random), home educating (with ideas popping up sporadically), an attempt to homestead on .2 acres (with very meager yields), raising 3 of 4 children with a rare genetic disorder, and lots of highly personal family triumphs and failures. You may also find an eclectic array of musings on politics, exercise, sewing, emergency preparedness, backyard chickens, and religion. This blog isn't a campaign to glorify anyone or anything. Just simply a record.

Thanksgiving Thankful

Thanks for my little girls who love to do "Momschool" with me and sew their own Indian Costumes....
Thanks for beautiful new Christmas dresses from Mimi and Papa and that my girls found my crimper and can't live without it now....
Thanks for Emmett's running nose and constant blissful personality, this morning he lay on top of me for a full 3 minutes snuggling and giving me full open mouth kisses....
Thanks for a fearless uncle Jesse who climbed up this with Ellery, something Dad probably would not have done..
Thanks for Mimi and Christy for a cute, if only partially listened to Thanksgiving play....
Thanks for "Breakfast with Santa" and that Ellery thought the Costco doll was as cute as the one in the American Girl catalogue....
Thanks for letting me borrow your hairpiece everyday mom, so I look like I am 15....
Thanks for this face...
Thanks for cousins and warm footy jammies that go all the way up to size 6X....
Thanks for celebrating early Christmas with trucks and roller skates and puppets...
Thanks for this one...

And this one....

And this one...

Thanks especially for our wonderful Mimi and Papa, we pray for many more holidays together!

Love the pictures and how fun to do an early Christmas!! Did they come out or did you guys come out here?? Next time you come out to the bay area we are so meeting up okay? I do have one question, how do you get your girls to let you do their hair??? I bribe Sav with anything and everything, I have used every tactic to get her to sit still while I try and make all her hair into something cute. Your girls always have adorable hair styles.
